To all our clear-hearted well-wishers, devotees, and supporters,

It is with a heart full of gratitude and immense joy that we share a significant milestone in our journey of preserving the sacred Vedic tradition.

Sri Dattatreya Veda Vidya Gurukulam has been bestowed with the prestigious Bharatatma Ashokji Singhal Veda Puraskar (2025) by the Singhal Foundation, Udaipur. This honor formally recognizes our institution as an “Uttama Veda Vidyalaya”—an Excellent Institute of Vedic Learning.

Celebrating the Significance

The award was conferred with great respect during the foundation’s 9th annual ceremony in Pune (Punyapattanam), Maharashtra, on November 17, 2025 (the auspicious Margashirsha Krishna Trayodashi, Vikram Samvat 2082).

The Sanskrit citation on the award beautifully captures the spirit of our mission, describing our Gurukulam with profound attributes:

  • Vedavidya-Guru-Shishya-Kalpavalli: A “wish-fulfilling creeper” that nourishes the sacred relationship between the Guru and the Disciple through Vedic knowledge.
  • Loka-Kalyana: An institution dedicated to Vedic education that promotes Dharma and the welfare of the entire world.
  • Bhavya-Bharat-Sanskriti: A guardian of the glorious culture and knowledge traditions of India.

About the Award and the Visionary Behind It

To understand the weight of this honor, it is essential to know the legacy it represents.

The Bharatatma Ashokji Singhal Veda Puraskar

This award is widely regarded as the first national-level recognition dedicated exclusively to excellence in Vedic education. It was instituted to encourage schools, teachers, and students to propagate the Vedas for the good of society. The award typically includes categories for the Ideal Vedic Teacher (Adarsh Vedadhyapak), Excellent Vedic Student (Utkrishta Vedvidyarthi), and Best Vedic School (Uttam Vedvidyalaya), making it a comprehensive celebration of the entire Vedic ecosystem.

In Memory of Ashokji Singhal

The award perpetuates the memory of Late Shri Ashokji Singhal, a stalwart of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) who dedicated his life to the upliftment of Hindu Dharma. While widely known for his leadership in the Ram Janmabhoomi movement, he was also a profound devotee of the Vedas.

  • A Life of Service: Ashokji believed that Indian culture could only survive through the preservation of the Vedas. To this end, he organized World Veda Conferences and established numerous Veda schools under the VHP.
  • Vedic Vision: He viewed the Vedas not just as religious texts, but as the foundation for the welfare of humanity and the “Bhavya Bharat” (Glorious India) mentioned in our award citation.

The Singhal Foundation

Based in Udaipur, the Singhal Foundation was established by the family of Late Shri Ashokji Singhal to continue his charitable works and vision. The foundation is deeply committed to Ved Seva (service to Vedas), cow protection, and the promotion of Indian culture. By instituting these national awards, they ensure that the silent, dedicated work of Vedic scholars across India is recognized and celebrated on a grand stage.

A Note of Gratitude to the Singhal Foundation

In light of this recognition, we extend our deepest and most public gratitude to the Singhal Foundation, Udaipur.

We are truly humbled that you have identified our efforts and honored us with this distinction. Your citation, acknowledging our role in the Guru-Shishya tradition, deeply resonates with our core mission. This award strengthens our resolve to continue serving Sanatana Dharma and preserving the glorious Bhavya Bharat Sanskriti.

We thank the trustees and members of the Singhal Foundation for their unwavering support of Vedic institutions and for tirelessly working toward the welfare of the nation.

Moving Forward

Receiving this recognition inspires us to work with even greater efficiency and dedication. This achievement belongs to every student reciting the Vedas in our halls, every teacher guiding them, and every well-wisher who has supported us along the way.

Let us continue to uphold the light of the Vedas together.
